Wilderness Training – Not a bad idea….

Posted: April 13, 2015 in Ideas

As a homeschooling mom, I find this extremely interesting.

There are courses you can take to help hone your survival skills. Alderleaf Wilderness College is a web based alternative college specializing in wilderness and tracking skills. Now I realize a lot of this is just common sense, but I think it’s a great way to bring your kids into the survival state of mind. Great way to introduce prepping and outdoor skills.

As a former cub scout den leader, this is an amazing aside to what many of the boys are learning, and it even adds to it! Would be a great Eagle Scout project as well.

It looks like the courses are aimed at adults, but middle school and high school kids could probably gain a lot of knowledge and understand the basic course work. Kids these days are learning way more advanced stuff in school than I did at the same grade level!

If you or someone you’d know would be interested; check it out!
